US SAILING’s 2010 Rolex Miami OCR Witnesses Worldwide Participation

The 2010 season of the Rolex Miami OCR boasts of participation from 44 countries and more than 640 sailors. The 2010 season of the regatta is just around the corner as the action on the waves is scheduled to begin on the 23rd of January and would continue till the 30th of January. The registrations have been closed and now the teams and sailors are preparing themselves for the finest battle on the waves. The 2010 sailing season will see its first regatta on the waves of Biscayne Bay, which will bring together the most elite sailors of the world in the Olympic and Paralympic classes.

Max Angelelli And Martin Ragginger Lead Final Day of Roar Before The Rolex 24

Sunshine greeted the drivers on the final day of test sessions at the Daytona International Speedway. The tracks saw favorable weather conditions and sunshine, unlike day 2. With the test sessions wrapping up, the teams and drivers were seen fine tuning their strategies and engines to take on the challenge of the Rolex 24 At Daytona. The last day of practice was crucial as this would be the last time the drivers would have time to evaluate their performance and get time to adjust to the tracks. Freezing Day 2 At The Roar Before The Rolex 24 Practice Sessions

The temperatures dipped lower on day 2 of the Roar Before the Rolex 24 practice sessions. The second day of practice witnessed cold temperatures, light snow, freezing rain, sleet and patches of ice in the morning. These caused a delay in the sessions, which were then initiated in the latter half of the day. However, the drivers and their teams stood undeterred in spite of the frost around the tracks and were successful in posting some admirable times. Michael Valiante led the Daytona Prototypes by recording the fastest lap on the tracks. Once the afternoon sessions began for the three-day test series, Michael Valiante sped away at 126.594 mph in his No. 6 Michael Shank Racing Ford Riley to post a lap time of 1:41.237.

US SAILING’s 2010 Rolex Miami OCR Registrations Closed

The registrations for the 2010 Rolex Miami OCR closed on Friday, 8th of January. The annual regatta which was established in 1990 by US SAILING has been a major attraction for the most elite sailors from around the world to compete in the Olympic and Paralympic classes. This year more than 640 sailors from 45 countries have registered for the regatta. These numbers have far surpassed last year’s entries and prove the popularity of the regatta with the most prominent Olympic and Paralympic medalists and World Champions participating in the event. The regatta promises the most elite international competition that the waters of Biscayne Bay have witnessed. The dates for the regatta have been affixed from 24 January to 30 January. Bora Gulari Recognized For His Achievements In 2009 With The Rolex Yachtsman Of The Year Award

The sailing year is never complete without the announcement of the nominees for the Rolex Yachtsman and Yachtswoman of the Year Award. 2009/2010 Rolex FEI World Cup Jumping Series Continues Captivating Audiences In 2010

The Rolex FEI Jumping Series has entered its 32nd season. The 2010 leg of the series would begin in Leipzig, Germany and is slated to be held from the 21st to the 24th of January. The series which was created in 1978 presently comprises of 14 leagues which span across all the continents. The Western European League series began with the jumping competition held in Oslo, Norway from the 9th to the 11th of October. Luke Hines has signed the dotted line with Miller Barrett Racing and is set to make his debut at the 2010 Rolex 24 At Daytona. Rolex Sydney Hobart Race Winners Honored At The Royal Tasmanian Yacht Club

The Rolex Sydney Hobart Race was drawn to its conclusion on 1st January, 2010 with the prize giving ceremony held at the Royal Tasmanian Yacht Club.
